Acne can be defined as a skin condition that normally involves the oil glands of the skin particularly on the face. It may not be harmful to the person but it leaves scars on the face that may not easily go away. The oil glands produce an oily liquid that flows along vessels known as follicles toward the skin surface. Normally, the dead cells are simply cleaned off and they leave the skin. If there is something blocking the surface of the skin, lumps appear beneath the skin known as pimples. Although this condition is common mainly among teenagers, adults under the age of thirty are also affected. This is said by scientists to be due to hormonal imbalance.

Most people who get acne quickly rush to using lotions and creams first in order to treat their condition. Nevertheless, what most people do not realize is that the creams and lotions can actually aggravate the situation. They have harsh ingredients and toxins that harm the skin and only hide the symptoms from the surface of the skin. When the cream is no longer in use, the acne symptoms quickly return back to the surface.

To rapidly treat acne one only needs to balance their diet and ensure that all necessary nutrients are provided for. This fast therapy cleanses the skin and does not trap dirt on the inside to hide symptoms that lead to inflammation. Some oils are not helpful to the cleansing process of the skin as they clog the pores. These are the oils that have not been refined and therefore contain more oils than the body actually needs. The easiest way to get rid of excess oils from the body is through the skin.

Another fast cure for acne is exfoliating and cleansing the skin. This simply involves trying to remove the dirt particles from within the skin to ensure they do not block the surface. Washing the face gently with mild cleansing agents is advised as harsh scrubbing only serves to make matters worse causing more pimpling as the skin attempts to protect its surface. Exfoliating helps remove the dead cells that form a layer on the skin surface. To keep skin irritation at a minimum exfoliation should only take place every 3 to 4 days. The follicles can easily extract excess oils which are passed on to the surface by the unclogged pores once the dead skin has been removed.
